About
Waddington-McClure Architects is an RIBA chartered practice, led by Nicola and Angus Waddington. Nicola has many years’ experience in a broad range of sectors, having worked in both Glasgow on high quality housing and in London as an architect and design manager for Canary Wharf Construction planning urban design, and developing high specification office and retail projects.
Nicola is a member of the Ministerial Advisory Group for Architecture and the Built Environment in Northern Ireland. Nicola is also a member of the RSUA Council and a Conservation Architect Registrant. Angus worked for six years with Michael Hopkins and Partners in London and eleven years with TODD Architects in Belfast before joining the practice in 2014.
Angus has worked on a number of highly acclaimed environmentally focussed projects including Parliament’s Portcullis House. In Belfast he was the architect of a number of landmark buildings including the University of Ulster’s Belfast School of Art and Queen’s School of Law, and was Lead Architect delivering Titanic Belfast. Angus has experience working both as a design manager and BREEAM AP sustainability consultant on major construction projects.

Our Service
We undertake a wide variety of work including housing, churches and community work, commercial projects and individual dwellings. We provide carefully considered extensions and renovation to period properties. We also undertake feasibility reports, capacity studies and planning advice.We aim to listen to your requirements then work with you to help realise a bespoke solution tailored for you.
Our service is flexible, but typically includes:
- Free initial meeting with no obligation
- Preparation of a ‘design brief’ and sketch designs
- Development of design through to Planning Application
- Preparation of construction drawings for Building Control Submission
- Tendering to builders
- Preparation of contract and appointment of contractor
- Site visits, liaising with builders to completion
